APRILは、インドネシアのリアウ州における自らの現在の社会的および経済的な貢献に関する詳細な分析を完了した後、国際連合の持続可能な開発目標のうち7つを優先事項としました。

この分析は、APRILとPwC所属の持続可能性コンサルタントとの共同作業によって実施されました。分析報告書は方法論と勧告を把握する内容であり、特にAPRILの活動の効果を測定するための枠組としてSDGを活用するプロジェクトの第一段階の完了を取り上げています。

「つくる責任 つかう責任」(ゴール12)、「気候変動に具体的な対策を」(ゴール13)、および「陸の豊かさも守ろう」(ゴール15)が、APRILにより、中核的目標、すなわち当社の活動および持続可能性に向けた当社のコミットメントと最も強く歩調を揃え、地方レベル、国家レベルおよび国際レベルで当社が最大の効果を発揮し続けることが可能な分野に当たる目標として特定されました。

これらはAPRILが触媒的目標と称する目標によって支えられ、これらを通じ、APRILは周囲のコミュニティに対して指数関数的な効果を与えることができます。これらの目標とは、「すべての人に健康と福祉を」(ゴール3)、「質の高い教育をみんなに」(ゴール4)、「安全な水とトイレを世界中に」(ゴール6)、そして「パートナーシップで目標を達成しよう」(ゴール17)です。

PwCによる分析の対象となったのは、APRILの現在のコミュニティプログラム、様々な活動および投資のほか、コミュニティ代表者を含む広範な利害関係者グループとの協力です。プロジェクトの次の段階では、これらの優先目標の下で選択されるターゲットに対するARPILのベースライン効果を測定するための枠組の開発が関係してきます。

プロジェクトの最終段階では効果測定結果について報告することになりますが、これは将来の投資と戦略の指針とする上で役立つでしょう。

国連開発計画(UNDP)インドネシア事務所は、地方自治体や中央政府の優先事項との整合性を確保するためのプロセスを統括する運営委員会のメンバーとして、プロジェクトに関わっています。このプロジェクトは、リアウ州内の3地区において、タノト財団と提携しつつ、現地の状況に応じてSDGを実施できるよう、当社とUNDPおよびリアウ州政府の協力体制を補うものです。

APRILグループの事業部門であるPT. Riau Andalan Pulp and PaperのSihol P Aritonang取締役社長は「実業界はインドネシアにおける2030年開発アジェンダの達成に一定の役割を担います。このイニシアティブの価値は、リアウ州とインドネシアにおける持続可能な開発に対する当社の貢献を形成、測定し、それについて報告するための共通の統一的な枠組の開発に役立つという点にあります。」と述べました。

彼はさらに、「SDGのおかげで私達は、グローバルな優先事項と国別の優先事項に自分達の戦略と貢献を結び付ける傍ら、これをコミュニティレベルまたは村レベルでの地盤に対する行動と便益に置き換えることができます。」と付け加えました。

Particular waste types as described above are measured as a wet waste and converted to a bone dry (BD) weight. Method

To quantify the total GHG emission and removals across APRIL’s land bank from land use, APRIL follows the GHG Protocol Agricultural Guidance and IPCC Guidelines for Agricultural, Forestry, and Other Land Use. To detect the land cover change within the look-back period, i.e. 20 years APRIL utilized the remotely sensed data.

The GHG emission will be calculated as the total of carbon stock changes in woody biomass and soil organic carbon and include all major carbon fluxes such as peat decomposition, plantation growth and harvesting, and fires.

To quantify the amount of carbon unit to balance the emission, the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), the Climate, Community and Biodiversity Standards (CCB), or other internationally accepted standard will be used.
