{"id":13455,"date":"2018-04-13T16:45:43","date_gmt":"2018-04-13T08:45:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/april.hellopomelo.space\/articles\/april-and-the-fire-free-alliance-fire-safety-awareness-forest-fire-training-indonesia\/"},"modified":"2025-03-18T03:59:11","modified_gmt":"2025-03-18T03:59:11","slug":"fire-free-alliance-fire-awareness-program-april-asia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/april.hellopomelo.space\/id\/articles\/fire-free-alliance-fire-awareness-program-april-asia\/","title":{"rendered":"APRIL and the Fire Free Alliance"},"content":{"rendered":"<div itemprop=\"articleBody\" class=\"page-inner-wrapper\">\n<p>In 2015, APRIL&#8217;s fire prevention efforts led it to launch its pioneering <a href=\"\/en\/our-media\/articles\/april-s-fire-free-village-program-ffvp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fire Free Village Program (FFVP)<\/a>, a fire prevention program which aims to raise awareness about the negative impacts of land burning.<\/p>\n<p>That year, APRIL recorded a 90 per cent reduction in fire incidence among the villages which were participating in the FFVP \u2013 the same year that notoriously saw the worst fire season in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, APRIL continued to grow the FFVP, and the company was among the founding members of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.firefreealliance.org\/#about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fire Free Alliance (FFA)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/april.hellopomelo.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Fire-Free-Alliance-Fire-Awareness-Program.jpg\" alt=\"Forest Fire Safety Awareness &amp; Training Indonesia\" width=\"97%\"><\/p>\n<p>The FFA is a voluntary multi-company group comprising forestry and agriculture companies which works with NGOs and other partners to resolve Indonesia&#8217;s persistent fire and haze problems arising from land burning, primarily through emphasis on a fire and haze prevention approach.<\/p>\n<p>Besides APRIL, members of the FFA currently include Asian Agri, Wilmar International Limited, Musim Mas, IDH, PM.Haze, Sime Darby, and IOI.<\/p>\n<p>The FFA is dedicated to supporting the Indonesian Government&#8217;s commitment to a haze-free ASEAN by 2020.<\/p>\n<p>As part of its on-going efforts, the FFA has expanded fire awareness outreach to more than 200 villages, covering at least 1.5 million hectares of land in various parts of Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Among the fire training projects that FFA members run with participating villages are &#8220;no-burn reward&#8221;
