For example, <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 105%;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">sometimes w<\/span><span style=\"color: black;\">e leave the lights on in an empty room or use plastic straws to drink. Likewise, we \u00a0buy drinking water in plastic bottles, without considering how the used bottle will be disposed of, and frequently we don\u2019t finish food and allow it to go to waste. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 12pt 0in 8pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 105%;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: black; line-height: 105%;\">But do you realize that all of these things can have a negative impact on greenhouse gas emissions?<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 105%;\"> <span style=\"color: black;\">This is because the consumption of energy and goods from our daily activities can frequently result in the emission of greenhouse gases, which can in turn accelerate global warming. These greenhouse gas emissions drive changes in climate and temperature that can threaten the safety of all living organisms. The UN Environment Programme has explicitly stated that \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unenvironment.org\/news-and-stories\/story\/every-straw-counts-fight-against-climate-change\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">every straw counts in the fight against climate change<\/a>\u2019.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 12pt 0in 8pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 105%;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: black; line-height: 105%;\">As an agent of c<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 105%;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">hange, perhaps it is time for all of us to change our habits in order to have a positive impact towards the environment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 12pt 0in 8pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 105%;\"><span style=\"line-height: 105%; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Some examples that we can do are: reducing the use of personal vehicles, turning off lights when we are not using rooms, eliminate single use plastic,\u00a0 managing organic trash by finishing all of our foods and many more<\/span><span style=\"color: black;\">. The UN has said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unenvironment.org\/news-and-stories\/story\/no-time-waste-using-data-drive-down-food-waste\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">reducing food waste<\/a>, for example, is one of the most effective ways of battling climate change.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 12pt 0in 8pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 105%;\"><span style=\"line-height: 105%; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But it\u2019s not just about individuals. Corporations have a huge role to play in supporting climate mitigation also. <\/span><span style=\"color: black;\">APRIL Group recently launched APRIL2030, our commitment to have a positive impact on climate, nature and people over the next decade. Our <a href=\"https:\/\/april2030.aprilasia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">APRIL2030<\/a> strategy is made up of four main commitment areas. One of these areas, called Climate Positive, outlines our plans to implement science-based solutions to drastically reduce carbon emissions. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; display: block;\" src=\"https:\/\/april.hellopomelo.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/climate-positive-and-its-impact-on-reducing-greengouse-gas-effects-02.jpg\" alt=\"APRIL Group\" width=\"700\" height=\"\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 105%;\"><span style=\"color: black; line-height: 105%; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">We are taking action on climate through a series of\u00a0Climate Positive\u00a0targets, which include achieving net zero emissions from land use by optimising carbon sequestration and storage across landscape types including peatland and minimising emissions through science-based landscape management.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 12pt 0in 8pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 105%;\"><span style=\"color: black; line-height: 105%; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The targets and commitments are aligned with the Indonesian Government\u2019s priority target for 23 per cent of the national energy mix to be made up of renewable energy by 2025, with this figure to rise to 31 per cent by 2050. The activities also support the Paris Agreement&#8217;s commitment to limit global warming temperature to no more than two degrees Celsius by reducing carbon dioxide emissions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Do you want to learn more about our APRIL2030 commitments?
