On July 17th, WWF issued an advisory that included recommendations on APRIL\u2019s Sustainable Forest Management Policy.\u00a0 The advisory is noteworthy.\u00a0 Guidance from stakeholders helps make us more sustainable. \u00a0We appreciate all inputs communicated in their advisory.\u00a0 APRIL found significant areas of alignment with the organisation\u2019s recommendations.<\/p>\n

APRIL is fully committed to its Sustainable Forest Management Policy<\/p><\/div>\n

We acknowledge that during the first six months of our policy implementation, we encountered some shortcomings, such as a miscommunication between APRIL and a supplier in North Kalimantan. We appreciate the willingness of WWF-Indonesia to take part in a joint field verification process to investigate a suspected policy violation by the supplier. The Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC) has been informed and updated on this case.<\/p>\n

We will be discussing this North Kalimantan supplier matter, as well as the recommendations in WWF\u2019s advisory, at the next SAC meeting in August and seek the Committee\u2019s advice.<\/p>\n

APRIL is fully committed to its Sustainable Forest Management Policy and will continue to vigorously enforce the commitments made in the policy. We welcome scrutiny of our policy and benefit from the views of our stakeholders.\u00a0 We will continue to engage with them as we implement the policy.<\/p>\n
